Senior Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a backend engineer, with a strong background in ES6 Javascript + Typescript experience. You will be responsible for making changes to our SST serverless backend. You will be the 3rd backend engineer. This is a high-impact role that will require collaboration with our frontend and product teams. We’re looking for someone who likes to get things done, is a self starter, and can learn quickly.

• Develop an Apollo GraphQL API written in Typescript and hosted on AWS Lamba
• Work with SST framework
• Use AWS products – Aurora (Postgres), Lambda, Cognito, CloudWatch, API Gateway, CloudFront, and many more
• Write readable code using Prettier and ESLint, follow and contribute to our style guide
• Participate in code reviews
• Collaborate with product and design to ensure the technical feasibility
• Participate in agile – standups, sprint planning, grooming / sizing, and retrospective meetings
• Work with technologies in our tech stack and help introduce new technologies as you see fit. We are a full-stack typescript/javascript shop.

• 3+ years of full-time Javascript/Typescript engineering experience, preferably within a fast growing startup
• Experience with SQL databases, preferably some with Postgres
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud providers such as GCP or Azure
• Proficient with Git and GitHub and CI/CD tools
• The ability to be flexible in a rapidly changing environment
• You are collaborative and are a team player
• You’re not afraid to ask questions. You care about variable names
