Senior Backend Engineer

Position Overview:

Following on from our continued growth and success, Intapp is looking for an Senior Backend Engineer to work with our growing AI & Data team in Berlin. You will be a part of a growing, innovative team and will work closely with the engineering, ML Ops, Data Science, Data leads, and product managements to enhance our existing software and develop new products.

You will own the design and development of project using modern technologies such as Python and cloud languages, build on Microsoft Azure Cloud solutions. This senior engineering role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership and experience into the existing team. The candidate will maintain a high level of code quality focused on engineering testing and quality into your development process.

The ideal candidate will have deep engineering experience and experience of development in Python including the delivery of production service delivery on Microsoft Azure cloud services ( or AWS ).

What you will do:

• Develop code to company / industry standards working closely with wider development team, product management and QA teams.

• Build microservices and implement our architecture and pipelines in the backend

• Take ownership of key technology decisions, build and orchestrate the backend services for data acquisition, processing, storage and retrieval tasks

• Mentoring team members as required

What you will need:

• Demonstrable experience in Python. Java, C# is a plus.

• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.

• Experience with software development end-to-end lifecycle.

• Excellent problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills

• Experience in software architecture design and will feel comfortable driving high level discussions and representing the team within the business

• You have experience writing asynchronous production code

• A proven track record in state-of-the-art backend services, including the development of software architecture, experience with message queue systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka), event-driven systems, and service to service communication (e.g. REST, GRPC) and data processing frameworks (PySpark, SparkStreams, Flink)

• You are familiar with microservices, automatic deployment in the cloud using CI/CD, automatic error and failure handling, system integration and testing

• Knowledge in cloud providers such as Azure or AWS

• You have a good understanding of databases, such as Postgres and MongoDB

• You are a passionate practitioner of efficient, clean, and maintainable code, and actively keep the quality of the codebase in check

• Fluent in English (verbal and written)
