Job Description

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll join a growing global team at Wix, shaping the future of eCommerce. You’ll develop and maintain the core selling and order management capabilities for all Wix verticals. Working in a highly distributed, cutting-edge environment, you’ll play a central role in building scalable, resilient systems that handle millions of requests per minute.

• Build and maintain backend systems to process 1.5 million API requests and 400,000 events per minute
• Design, implement and optimize scalable and resilient systems with an API-first approach
• Solve high-scale technical challenges in a distributed microservices environment (~100 microservices)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across the platform
• Lead technical initiatives to improve system performance, reliability and scalability
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to help them reach their full potential
• Write clean, test-driven code, ensuring high-quality deployments to production for millions of users
