Senior Backend Engineer (Golang)

We are looking for a Senior+ Backend Engineer to join Vio.com 's Meta Integrations team and help us to create and improve tools that allow to find the best matched deal for the every specific customer request.

We use a modern stack consisting of Go, TypeScript, AWS (ElasticCache, StepFunctions, EC2, S3, etc), Algolia, Snowflake, Terraform, and more. We work close to the end customers, build tools for their needs, develop search algorithms and hotel search orders. Hence, anything that you will develop and ship on production will have almost immediate effect on our users and on our business performance. We work in a flexible, results-oriented, data-driven and customer-centric team structure, focusing on shipping value in a collaborative fashion, with hopefully just the right amount of bureaucracy.

What you will do:

• Work in a team to solve challenging problems, and build products to help bring our travellers the best deals available in the market.

•  Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvements regarding performance, reliability, and code quality.

•  Write design documents and participate in architecture meetings with the team, having the goal of future-proof the team's applications.

•  Knowledge sharing: Mentor and support less experienced engineers.

• Help to improve our infrastructure and scale it to support our growth in a cost-effective way.

• You will report to the Engineering Manager of the squad

Who you are:

• You have at least 5 years of experience in backend development

• You have 2+ years of experience  with Golang. Experience with Rust, Python or Ruby is a plus, but not a hard requirement

• You have experience with designing, developing, and shipping highly scalable software

• You have experience working with data products and setting up data pipelines.

• You have experience with distributed systems

• You have experience with AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.

• You write tests as part of your coding routine.

•  You treat documentation as a first-class citizen.
