Senior Backend Engineer - Platform

We are looking for somebody with an engineering mindset who can bring fresh ideas from various areas, including large-scale platform design, analytics, data structures, security practices, large-scale data retrieval and processing environments. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be working closely with product managers, QA engineers, software engineers, and will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, maintaining and scaling various products under the umbrella of CleverTap Platform.

- You will write server side code, APIs to be utilised by front end engineers as well as other microservices.

- Your day to day work consists of optimising servers for speed and stability, implementing security structures, generating reusable code libraries and generating data storage solutions.

- You will work closely with our SRE team and different vendors to deliver some core tools for the rest of the engineering organisation

- Apart from this, you will also be involved with the product team directly in deciding the requirements, estimating delivery date for a particular feature and documenting the technical details for developing it.

Must Have:

- 4-6 years of experience in back-end development (designing, developing, testing and deploying large scale applications in Java)

- Strong organisational and time-management skills

- Attention to detail

- Ability to meet communicated deadlines and release projects with minimal bugs

- Good knowledge of data structures, OOP concepts and Java

- Experience with cloud native distributed systems (one of GCP, AWS or Azure)

- Quick learner

- Ability to switch focus and work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising based on changing requirements

- You are passionate about experiencing technology and its impact on enabling growth

Good to Have:

- Hands-on on MongoDB, Redis and AWS

- Some DevOps/SRE experience

- System level knowledge and shell scripting

- Java certification (OCJP or equivalent)

- Writing quality and bug free code adhering to functional and nonfunctional requirements

- Follow standard practices (Unit Tests, Reduce technical debt, Code Coverage, Integration Test, etc)

- Excellent troubleshooting skills - memory leaks, GC tuning

- On-time delivery and excellent inter team and intra team communication
