Senior Backend Engineer - Recording

Responsibilities:

You will play a pivotal role in our journey to deliver the best product on the market. Your contributions will include:

• Collaborating within small teams to craft innovative solutions
• Mentoring and elevating fellow engineering team members
• Developing scalable, robust, and user-friendly products capable of accommodating our current growth
• Partnering with our support engineers and customer service representatives to grasp customer needs, elevate Talkdesk's usability, and resolve customer issues
• Engaging with cross-functional teams, including Product and other engineering units, to ensure our solutions genuinely enrich our customers' experiences
• Vigilantly monitoring the production environment to optimize customer utilization of our product
• Challenging your skills daily, witnessing firsthand the impact of your efforts and the value you provide to our customers

Required Skills:

• A strong advocacy for product enhancement and customer value delivery
• “Big picture” or holistic thinking to seamlessly integrate new solutions in our existing product
• BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, or an engineering area
• 5+ years experience with design and development of large-scale web applications
• A passion for crafting clean, standards-compliant, and secure solutions that translate into user value
• Profound understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and APIs
• Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools (Git, CI, AWS)
• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, ScyllaDB, Redis, ElasticSearch)
• A strong advocacy for automated testing, continuous integration and dark launches
• Proficiency in Java programming

• Experience with Quarkus
• Experience with Event-driven architecture
• Experience with Git, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis or ScyllaDB
• Experience with other languages like Kotlin and Ruby
• Familiarity with React, Typescript and JavaScript
• Familiarity with Streams and WebRTC
• Experience in working in a globally distributed team
