Position Overview : We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help raise the engineering bar for the Screen Recording team at Level AI. They will actively collaborate with team members and the wider Level AI engineering community to develop highly scalable and performant systems. They will be a technical thought leader who will help drive solving complex problems of today and the future by designing and building simple and elegant technical solutions. They will coach and mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices. They will actively collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders both inside and outside the team.

Competencies : 

Must have :- NodeJs, AV lib (the FFmpeg library) and other live-streaming workflows

Good to have :- Standout, Django, Flask, FastAPI

Other Skills :- Javascript, Browser Extension, Relational database understanding (viz: PostgreSQL, SQL), No-SQL databases e.g. MongoDB, OLAP, BigQuery, ETL, Database design, Cache, Redis, Celery, Kafka, CI/CD, GCP, Kubernetes and Docker.

Requirements :

• Bachelors/Masters or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or Electronics or related fields from the Tier-I college with relevant work experience with a top technology company. 
• Minimum 4 to 6 Software engineering experience preferably within a startup environment where you've previously delivered high-quality products to users.
• Extremely good understanding of relational database understanding (viz: PostgreSQL, SQL).
• Being able to understand & design REST APIs is critical to ensure any reasonably complex functionality within the product.
• Strong breadth of experience with expertise in Node.JS(BE) and JavaScript.
• Good understanding of OOP concepts, Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Expertise in designing applications at scale, using relational and/or non-relational databases.
• Expertise in Database design along with load balancing.
• Experience with multithreaded architectures, web services, and caching.
• Demonstrable experience with av lib (the FFmpeg library) and other live-streaming workflows.
• Familiarity with streaming protocols and video encoding/decoding.
• Prior expertise using video streaming services hosted in the cloud.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to independently work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, and experience with event-driven systems.
• Understanding of Snowflake, OLAP, BigQuery, ETL is a plus.
• Experience in B2B enterprise project execution.




Nice to have:

• Experience with Python, GCP, and Docker is a plus.
• Some experience with AI Infrastructure and Operations
