Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our CISO Operations Team. The ideal candidate has a strong focus on building and maintaining secure RESTful APIs, integrating several data sources, and enabling security reporting for clients and other stakeholders. This role involves developing scalable, secure server-side logic, managing integrations with external APIs, and ensuring that our systems comply with security and privacy standards. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining both the data infrastructure and the security reporting mechanisms required to ensure system integrity and compliance. The ideal candidate has experience working in secure environments and is well-versed in handling sensitive data, reporting vulnerabilities, and ensuring backend security.
Your key tasks 

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs optimized for cloud environments
• Integrate various third-party APIs and data sources into our platform while adhering to security and data privacy standards
• Implement security reporting features, such as logging, vulnerability tracking, and compliance monitoring in cloud platforms
• Collaborate with Vulnerability Team to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure API security best practices
• Develop cloud-based data storage solutions and ensure secure data handling, encryption, and access controls
• Optimize server-side logic for cloud performance and scalability
• Leverage cloud-native tools to enhance API and security features
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems to ensure performance, security, and availability of backend services
• Document API workflows, security policies, and integration processes in a cloud environment
• Stay updated with cloud security best practices and evolving technologies

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Back-End Developer, with a focus on REST API development and, ideally, security reporting
• Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or OCI
• Proficiency in server-side languages such as Python, Golang, Java or similar
• Experience integrating and securing third-party APIs and data sources in cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and cloud databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure Cosmos DB)
• Knowledge of cloud-native tools for scaling, monitoring, and security automation
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and security reporting in cloud environments
• Good understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, encryption, and secure API design
• Experience with API and data security vulnerability assessments and solutions

It would be a real bonus if you have 

• Experience with cloud-based DevOps practices, including CI/CD and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) in cloud environments
• Familiarity with GraphQL or other API architectures
• Knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies
