Overview of the Role

Qarik is looking for Senior Bazel Engineers proficient with the Bazel build system to help shape build and deliver products that empower our client’s automation efforts. Our Engineering team focuses on enabling client’s end-to-end journey as they improve agility and resilience identifying opportunities to reduce IT operations through automation. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the build systems for our fast-growing client’s transformative software.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement new features and improve integration with the rest of the build system

• Troubleshoot and fix performance bottlenecks as the system scales

• Provide Bazel expertise to product development teams

• Ensuring new products and features meet customer needs

• Extensive testing and assessment of product prototypes and features

• Development and delivery of Bazel focussed tools and features

• Improve metrics monitoring and alerting

Ideal Attributes

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Practical experience developing and maintaining one or more large Bazel builds

• Practical experience deploying and maintaining remote caching and execution infrastructure

• Experience with Bazel Build Event Protocol and Remote Execution API

• Experience working as a Build Engineer in a large organization

• Experience with AWS Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience working on developer tools

• Systematic problem-solving approach coupled with effective communication skills

• Strong technical acumen problem solving and troubleshooting skills

• Experience working in a self-sufficient delivery team with autonomy and accountability

• Desired Locations: open to any location as long as you have a great internet connection and are willing to overlap the US east coast morning.
