Job Description


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage communication efforts, tools, and training to ensure employees are well informed of their benefits.
  • Conduct engaging benefits presentations for weekly new-employee orientations.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment and coordination of health and benefits fairs.
  • Communicate programs, plan changes, new hire orientation, and open enrollment, including in-person and virtual presentations.
  • Design content for new hire orientation and training for leave of absence and benefit programs.
  • Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and benefits consultants on implementation and management of North America benefit plans.
  • Understand and be able to speak to benefits plans globally.
  • Lead change management communications for acquisitions and integrations.
  • Recommend benefits programs to management by studying employee requirements, trends and developments in benefits area / genre.
  • Support management’s decision making process by analyzing benefit options and predicting future costs.
  • Identify benefit options by studying programs and obtaining advice from consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing laws and regulations and updates to legal requirements.
  • Resolve employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Partner with third-party administrators to create a benefits plan that fits all areas of business.
  • Remain current on industry trends, best practices, and compliance.
  • Lead additional projects as requested, including research, planning, implementation and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Collaborates with HRIS and Payroll on any benefits configuration or system updates.
  • Apply expertise in ERISA, IRS, DOL, COBRA, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance for both retirement and health & welfare plans.
  • Offer exceptional service to employees and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
  • CEBS or CBP certification a plus.
  • 8-10 years of experience in HR supporting employee benefits and/or internal communications.
  • Extensive knowledge of NA benefit packages, polices, best practices and legislations.
  • General knowledge and ability or willingness to assist in understanding benefit plans from a global perspective.  
  • Proven ability to evaluate, design and recommend benefit programs based on market assessment and business strategy.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and financial skills.
  • A business-wide thinker, with a lens on how decisions made within one site or unit may affect others across the business.
  • Driven self-starter with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to operate independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in customer service environment.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and Workday (or similar system).
  • Strong ability to work with details and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
