The Role:
The Senior Benefits Program Manager will play a key role in the design and execution of Cart's benefits programs. This role is primarily responsible for managing the strategy, design, administration, and compliance of Cart's benefits program and will report directly to our Senior Director of Compensation & Benefits as part of our People Operations team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in benefits administration, including open enrollment and program management, and thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments. In addition, the ideal candidate enjoys educating and collaborating with various internal and external partners, as well as managing projects individually. Lastly, this individual considers themself highly organized, analytical, and data driven.
What You'll Do:
  • Assists in the development, execution, and management of all global benefit and wellness program design and implementation to provide for the protection of current and former employees while complying with all government regulations (ERISA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Partners with the People Operations team on Workday implementation of Benefits and ongoing management. Manage and escalate system and processing issues and liaise with internal business partners on resolution.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies and presentation materials to effectively communicate benefits programs and wellness initiatives, support new hire orientations, open enrollment, and related updates.
  • Analyzes benefits data and trends, reviews utilization, identifies problems and issues and recommends solutions.
  • Provides advisory and consultative services for People Strategists regarding plan interpretation, administration, and complex problem resolution
  • Manages the administration of all benefit programs, ensuring responses to employee and vendor requests are timely and accurate
  • Creatively think about employee wellbeing and inclusion and pro-actively identify opportunities to better serve the workforce with a suite of benefits offerings that align with Cart.com's values.
  • Drive benefits process improvement activities, including process design, documentation, and training.
  • Work with external partners to benchmark and assess current programs and policies to understand any gaps in existing plans, and costs associated with potential shifts of benefits & wellness offerings.
  • Develop mechanisms to understand return on investment and make recommendations on any needed shifts in strategy or spend for benefits & wellness programs.
  • Monitors enrollment in 401(k) and resolves issues. Main liaison with vendor. In conjunction with vendor, develops and reviews communication and educational programs regarding plan to ensure that employees understand investment options and rules of the plan. Prepares and submits annual compliance filings as required.
  • Manages and monitors performance of benefits and wellness vendor relationships to assure proper level of satisfaction and ensure vendors continue to monitor costs and financial impact of plans to Cart.com, reviews and suggests plan alternatives. Participates in vendor selection. Responsible for interpreting plan provisions, interacting with external vendors and legal over complex issues, and resolving problems within the scope of plan parameters
  • Communicates policy and procedure changes to employees, People Strategists, vendors, and others

What You've Done:
  • You possess a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent related professional experience.
  • You have 8+ years of benefits administration or benefits program management experience in an evolving and high growth environment
  • You have experience with Workday implementations
  • You have experience working with internal and external stakeholders to develop scalable solutions and ensure operational excellence.
  • You have strong vendor management experience
