Position Summary

Senior BI Developer (Global Healthcare Alliance, Inc., Houston, TX): The Senior BI Developer will be responsible for improving and troubleshooting the BI systems that stores the warehouse data and designing dashboard and report to identify data and trends to aid GHA in business decision making.

Roles & Responsibilities

Daily duties include:

• Engage product owners and business stakeholders to gather requirements and use agile methodology to deliver Tableau dashboards and SharePoint reporting;
• Collect business requirements and translate them into data requirements, designing and developing reports or dashboards (SQL query and visualization);
• Use SQL to write complex queries that join data across multiple systems;
• Develop expertise, thought leadership in the area of analytics, business intelligence and reporting, and provide new and innovative approaches to business data analysis and interpretation;
• Plan, design and develop innovative BI solutions using an enterprise data warehouse environment, consisting of dimensional/relational data modeling techniques ETL processes;
• Map the front-end user interface software to its equivalent tables and columns in the back-end database and evaluate and enhance the current ETL processes;
• Monitor production systems and servers for issues and resolves issues or elevates them for resolution;
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations that accurately convey data trends and associated analysis;
• Use SQL to provide database support by coding, scripting, or modifying the existing SQL queries, views and stored procedures; and
• Troubleshoot BI tool problems and models to build, code and execute unit and integration test plans and provide technical support as needed.

Daily use of the following tools and technologies: Tableau, Power BI, Excel, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SharePoint and analytics on AWS.

Regular telecommuting may be permitted from within commuting distance to the worksite. Must be able to commute to the worksite on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.

Required Experience / Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: a bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or a closely related field of study and 5 years experience performing SQL based data analysis and 2 years experience building end-user friendly reports and dashboards in SSRS, Power BI or Tableau. All experience may be gained concurrently.
