Job Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Biostatistician. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and leading the analytical components of research studies focused on exploring the real-world value of pharmaceutical assets or addressing strategic questions within targeted disease areas.

Your expertise in epidemiology, health services research, biostatistics, or implementation science will be instrumental in guiding the analysis of real-world evidence (RWE) studies, using diverse datasets encompassing clinical, survey, claims, and electronic medical record information.

To ensure the accuracy and efficacy of the studies, you will apply your strong research attitude, leveraging your deep understanding of epidemiological design and robust statistical methodologies. It will be your duty to guarantee appropriate study design and the correct implementation of statistical methodologies.

Additionally, you will actively engage in continuing education to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in these methods and takes an active role in educating the team on their application. This role will also contribute to business development process providing statistical methodologies and rationales as a subject matter expert.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Works in a cross-functional team as a subject matter expert providing the best-in-class study design and statistical methodology guidance and services to clients and project teams in order to drive RWE project and client engagement success.
• Authors or performs quality control (QC) review of the statistical section of a protocol development, sample size calculation, SAPs and shells, case report form (CRF) review.
• Writes programming specifications for statistical analyses, with a particular focus on statistical modeling. This includes recommending appropriate packages and functions, defining parameter configurations, and specifying desired output statistics and formats.
• Plans and documents timelines, forecasts resource needs, suggests work may be out of scope.
• Identifies risks to project delivery and/or quality and spends time to proactively avoid as well as proposes solutions to mitigate risks. Where possible, anticipate risks to minimize the need for study level escalations.
• Reviews and comments on proposals/budgets at a study level. May contribute to request for proposals (RFP). May be expected to present at bid defenses.
• Helps train staff on statistical methodology and operational items. Mentors junior staff. Supports colleagues and provides motivation as needed.

Requirements

• MS degree in statistics or biostatistics. PHD is preferred.
• 5+ year RWE experience as biostatistician (focus on design, modeling methods, etc.)
• Familiar with advanced statistical modeling and applications in RWE studies
• Machine learning project experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in SAS/R/Python is a plus.
• Good communication skills - will need to be comfortable presenting to clients.
