*Valvoline World Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY , but we invite candidates living in nearby markets to apply as well. Ideally, we are open to remote candidates living within driving distance (i.e., Cincinnati, Louisville, etc.) willing to visit HQs 2-3 days a week. *This position also offers a relocation package for candidates open to relocating.

How You'll Make an Impact

The Senior Brand Manager will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the brand and ensuring success against the brand's business objectives. The Brand Manager is responsible for helping to accelerate the profitable share growth across the DIY Business Unit through the development and execution of brand-building activities and strategic platforms. Assists in the initiation, development, coordination, and monitoring of assigned marketing activities for relevant products/brands and/or development programs. Key responsibilities include positioning strategy, advertising, consumer target identification, media, digital and social channel marketing and influencer program development. driving the strategic direction for the brand and ensuring success against their brand's business objectives. Supports in delivering sustained growth and setting the business up for future success by building brand equity with consumers and influencers. Drives product management strategy across the business. In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • US Brand Marketing Plans - Drive the vision for the brand and execute brand objectives, strategies, and key initiatives that drive growth and plan successes for the business. As part of this effort, the BM will work closely with Global Equity and Product Strategy & Management teams to create US-specific plans for the brand and product categories.
  • Business Marketing Initiatives - Lead the development and execution of media and marketing strategies and programs that span the various brands (e.g. national marketing programs, account-specific marketing partnerships, etc.).
  • Brand-Level Business Tracking - Closely monitor and proactively manage performance versus plan. Understands how initiatives can impact Valvoline's ability to achieve plan. Determines market level pricing, ensuring margin expectations are met . Analyzes where the profit opportunities lie within their business P&L and proactively leads top-line and bottom-line-driving initiatives to make plan across the business.
  • Consumer Insights & Creative Development -The BM will be the expert in consumer insights, brand equities, and customer dynamics. Leverages deep consumer understanding to create best-in-class consumer communications across the businesses (Motor Oil and other automotive products), the various touchpoints (advertising, consumer promotions, PR, packaging, POS, etc.), and channels (Retail, Commercial, DTC).
  • Account Relationships, Partnerships, and Growth Initiatives Collaborate and partner with the Valvoline Sales Directors and their teams to plan and execute account-specific initiatives, proposals, and presentations to identify win-win growth solutions and deliver indispensable partnership.
  • Manage, Coach, and Develop the Marketing Team Manage a team of Assistant Brand Managers, drive best practices, and grow the competencies and capabilities of the DIY Marketing team.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You'll Need

  • BA in Marketing, Communication, or related field
  • Minimum ten years of CPG marketing, leading brand planning and execution, with a track record of delivering topline and bottomline growth
  • Experience managing and coaching (direct reports)
  • Hands-on approach to marketing (ability to work fast with little budget and resources)
  • Experience in brand building
  • Experience in working with advertising agencies
  • Experience in working with teams with different cultural background and beliefs
  • Solid understanding of media, promotions and sports/entertainment partnerships
  • Ability to travel overnight, up to 15%
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
