Description & Qualifications
Description
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who understands payroll and tax compliance to join our Tax Compliance team. Do you possess a deep domain knowledge of payroll and taxes for large companies, possibly by previously working as a payroll administrator or by working with payroll professionals to teach, implement, or support their payroll solution? Are you an analytical thinker and problem-solver, a planner and an organizer, and a strong communicator (written and verbal)? Are you comfortable working in a highly technical environment, working with software development and complicated logic, and translating that complexity into clear and actionable requirements? Do you know how to gather insights from a diverse group of people and collaborate with a team to design solutions for user problems in an agile software environment? Are you fun to work with?
If you are the kind of person who is passionate about payroll and tax compliance, a stickler for details, able to comprehend and explain complex logic in a clear and simple manner, and skilled at collaborating with others, you are the kind of person we want on our team.
Primary Duties and Key Responsibilities
* Research and quickly understand customer needs, regulatory requirements, technical functionality, and payroll calculations.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders in Support and Services as well as with developers and QA engineers to design software features and enhancements.
* Write clear and actionable requirements (user stories, use case scenarios, and acceptance criteria) to help focus the team on solving the right problems.
* Facilitate meetings that help the team understand the customer, the problem we're trying to solve, and the success criteria for the solution.
* Think imaginatively and intuitively while quickly grasping and synthesizing new ideas and reacting to rapidly changing situations.
* Ensure that projects remain on-track and in-scope, communicate project status, and escalate potential problems proactively and professionally.
* Work closely with Delivery Assurance to ensure that your features are ready for release, including the proper planning and coordination with the Learning and Marketing teams.
* Become a subject-matter expert in your area so you can become a source of knowledge for others internally and externally. Continuous learning is the norm.
* Serve as a leader on the team, taking on complex projects, improving our processes, and mentoring other BAs on the team.
* Be obsessed with delivering value to customers.
Qualifications
Required/basic:
* 3+ years of experience in payroll and/or tax
* 3+ years' experience as a Business Analyst in an agile software development environment.
* The ability to be onsite 3 days per week, as of day one of work, in any of the following UKG offices: Weston, FL, Atlanta or Alpharetta, GA or Lowell, MA.
Preferred:
* Knowledge of UKG Pro and our SQL tables (or a similar HCM/Payroll system)
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business or technology-related field
* Strong analytical skills to research and understand complex business problems and write detailed level requirements and acceptance criteria
* Detail-oriented with a high degree of organizational skills to successfully work independently or within a team to balance multiple priorities and overlapping tasks
