Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Senior Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) and Business Continuity group.

Position Summary:

The Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) Senior Business Analyst is a designated full-time resource responsible for working with stakeholders throughout the Firm to support business continuity and incident response efforts on a global basis. In this multifaceted role you will have a unique opportunity to protect the Firm while learning and working across all lines of business to develop, consistent procedures, communication, and escalation plans in the event of a business interruption due to acts of nature, malicious attack, or human error. In addition, you will support external client engagements working with relationship managers.

Responsibilities include:

Planning & Organization

  • Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of operational resiliency plans and business impact assessments across all business groups, ensuring they are in line with the overall business continuity plan.
  • Develop and facilitate continually maturing simulations/tabletop exercises of the business continuity and incident response scenarios. Clearly document in in an After-Action Report (AAR) and effectively communicate the findings and recommendations and develop a plan for closing them.
  • Assist with developing, maintaining and enforcing a schedule of regularly occurring tests of the business continuity and systems recovery processes. Clearly document in writing and effectively communicate the issues and gaps and develop a plan for closing them.
  • Maintain and continually enhance established policies, playbooks, and incident response procedures.
  • Participate in external business continuity management organizations and keep abreast of regulatory requirements and industry best practices and trends.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects as needed

Event Management & Incident Response

  • Provide incident response and business continuity support and, at times lead the Incident Response to ensure timely escalation and communications to include coordinating status calls, providing clear concise updates to the business heads, and assisting with implementation of resiliency plans
  • Maintain coordination and communication streams horizontally and vertically as part of major incident handling
  • Participate in conversations to facilitate moving functions from one office to another working with the business leaders
  • Draft incident communications, both for internal and external audiences, and provide status updates on the EIM Intranet portal pages
  • Monitor news and alert services to rapidly identify events affecting or potentially affecting our offices and/or personnel, escalating to relevant management
  • Translate technology issues into layman terms in support of internal and external communications

Relationship Management

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to enhance the EIM program within BBH
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact for EIM requests and inquiries to ensure a timely response to business and employee needs
  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders, senior management, and various department leaders to understand and define their critical processes, provide guidance and direction on incident response, and conduct business impact assessments
  • Manage external client engagements with timely completion of due diligence questionnaires and providing client overviews during due diligence visits
  • Conduct annual plan review of all business BCP plans and manage plan review/approval process ensuring all planners and managers sign-off

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate efficiently and effectively with business partners and all levels of leadership
  • Ability to establish effective relationships through strong listening skills with an authentic desire to be curious
  • Business knowledge of BBH core critical functions such as custody, infomediary, service delivery, and fund accounting/admin a plus
  • Proficient/Knowledgeable or demonstrated interest in crisis management, cybersecurity, business impact analysis, disaster recovery, and operational resiliency a plus
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks for business continuity and cybersecurity a plus
  • Experience with developing and conducting training and testing programs
  • Natural ability to take the lead and drive, whether it be a project or incident management
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise independent judgement when dealing with complex, sensitive, and ambiguous issues
  • Results-driven and ability to manage multiple global projects simultaneously
  • Confident communicator that can explain technology to non-technical audiences
  • Innately collaborative, proactive, and analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated teamwork
  • Extensive experience with standard desktop tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and communicate clearly in stressful situations
  • Ability to work extended/alternate hours during an event
  • Travel may be required
