Senior Business Development Analyst
Job Description Summary
AAM's Strategic Business Development team is looking to add a versatile team member who is eager to learn more about the future of the automotive mobility space. This catalyst will have experience working in finance, strategy, engineering or have start-up experience. This dedicated individual will be a key member of the team that will provide a perspective and analysis on key investment ideas and collaborations with promising startups and will work in collaboration with our colleagues across the company!
Job Description
We are seeking a candidate that will not only support but energetically partner with the Strategy & Business Development team by actively identifying technology targets by attending industry events, meeting startups, and/or using tech and investor networks. These events provide a phenomenal opportunity for this dedicated individual to also perform the following key responsibilities:
- Attend networking events and mines databases for potential opportunities
- Quickly provide relevant research materials to the team, and present to senior leadership as required
- Collaborate with colleagues and third parties to assess investments, partnerships, licensing and other collaboration opportunities with technology start-up companies
- Conduct due diligence of investment targets including product-market fit and competitiveness, business (revenue) model, valuation, potential co-investors, business risks, strategic fit, and post-investment development plan
- Stay up to date, researches and present new technology trends to advise leadership
- Help prioritize list of acquisition, co-investment and collaboration targets
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Engineering Computer Science, or similar required
- Master's Degree preferred
- Proven track record in a corporate environment while partnering with cross-functional departments and building relationships with key stakeholders
- Proficient with MS Office
- Must have strong technical desire and ability to assess technologies (with the support and input from various internal and external key team members) in light of business and regulatory trends
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be a skilled networker with the desire and ability to grow external network especially in new and emerging markets (electrification, mobility, software, etc)
- Ability and influence to build and lead relationships between AAM's internal business collaborators and startups through network and knowledge of strategic priorities
