Headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, Sentera builds specialized software, analytics, cameras and drones that capture and integrate in-field data insights and images with digital ag platforms. Agronomists, researchers, growers, seed retailers and supply chain managers use insights from our products to improve the precision, efficiency, and sustainability of their businesses.

Sentera's mission is to deliver time sensitive agricultural insights that optimize decisions and improve outcomes. Our integrated software and sensor products make it easy to integrate in-field data insights with the digital ag platforms in use by more than 80% of the growers in North America.

We're looking for a strong communicator and relationship builder to join the Sentera team as a Senior Business Development Representative. You'll work closely with the sales, marketing, and customer success teams to execute our sales strategy by generating leads, owning customer communication in the renewals process, and building out outbound account-based marketing strategies. In this role, you'll serve as a key champion for Sentera's value prop and drive revenue for a growing technology company.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to pass qualified leads generated via inbound and outbound activities, ensuring an ideal handoff of qualified prospects
  • Execute consistent outbound activities to engage potential existing customers and identified sales targets within assigned territory and market segment
  • Develop strategy with enterprise sales team for prioritizing, targeting, and closing key opportunities within assigned territory and market segment to execute account-based marketing strategy
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to provide feedback about demand generation tactics to improve qualifications requirements and streamline the lead hand-off process
  • Utilize business and industry knowledge to research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, create/identify compelling events, and develop accounts
  • Partner with marketing team to develop automated outreach campaigns for prospects and customers to align with the sales process
  • Achieve monthly goals for key KPIs, including SQLs, cross-sells, lead generation, sales targets, and renewal metrics

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, communications, or related field
  • 2 years of experience in lead generation or prospecting roles
  • Exceptional communicator with strong written, spoken, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Exposure to proven sales methodology or training
  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation tools
  • Existing relationships at large agricultural science companies a plus
  • Agriculture or SaaS experience preferred

Additional Details

  • FLSA and Job Status: Exempt, Full-Time (40+ hour work week)
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • Work location: Interested candidates should expect to work onsite in our St. Paul, Minnesota location. A hybrid work option may be arranged further into employment with the ability to work remotely 2-3 days per week. Relocation assistance will not be provided.
