Description

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer Responsibilities

Efficiently compile data from several different sources into single data set leveraged for automated routine reporting.

Data sources include:
  • Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Consumer Information
  • CSD (financial database)
  • Agency management
  • Corporate actuarial support tables
  • Self-owned mapping tables


Create new and maintain existing reports to guide and influence business decisions.
  • Continue to move routine reporting over to Power BI tools to automate process.
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work to implement


Longer-term would look to this position to assist with:
  • Monthly and annual budgeted admin forecasts
  • Membership forecasts
  • Monthly financial transactions for month-end closes including all Journal Entries and monitoring of transactions hitting the GL


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience
  • Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems
  • Experience with tools such as PowerBI for creating data visualizations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
  • Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
  • Experience working with Medicare Supplement data

Work-At-Home Requirements• WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office.
