The role

The Business Operations team is made up of people from a wide array of backgrounds. We have in common a desire to drive for excellence and a relentless focus to own the outcomes of our work. We are working on some of the most challenging and rewarding projects at 9fin, collaborating widely across teams and with stakeholders. You will be expected to be rigorous in regular planning and learning cadences, owning the coordination of multiple parties to drive work to completion.

What you’ll work on

The day-to-day specifics of members of our team vary, but typically involve a hybrid of analytical, strategic, and operational skills. Each member of our team deeply embeds within one or two of 9fin’s core business areas (below). This role’s business area is Tech, which includes Data science, Design, Engineering and Product (DDEP). 

• Commercial (Sales and Marketing)
• Content (Editorial, Legal, Credit, ESG)
• Tech (Engineering and Product - DDEP) 
• Ops (Data Ops, Finance and People)

The role is expansive, with high performing team members able to focus on their preferred areas or specific projects of interest. While roles and projects within the team vary, the commonality in our skillset includes:

• Outcome ownership: You’ll be delivery focussed, ensuring outcomes happen quickly. You’ll set success metrics for your work and then achieve these outcomes in varied and often ambiguous environments. 
• High rate of learning: Developing proficiency and understanding in a wide range of areas that might be outside of your normal comfort zone to achieve your outcomes. You’ll be getting deep into the weeds of issues and quickly problem solving and iterating to deliver the right results, with the full support of a strong, collaborative team. 
• Business partnering: Partnering with your key functions to identify where Operational data can play a key role in driving growth
• Conducting thorough analysis and workshops to gather comprehensive requirements for business reporting, ensuring alignment with broader 9fin strategy
• Serve as a liaison between core stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements across teams
• Quarterly business reviews: Bringing together Finance, People, Talent and Marketing reviewing quarterly OKRs, team performance, team revenue/ P&Ls, subscriptions, hiring, etc. to help teams make informed strategic decisions
• OKR management: Enabling high performance through driving results from team and company OKRs
• Data analysis: Use data analysis to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets related to operations, market trends, product performance, and operational metrics
• Business strategy: Work closely with business leaders to understand their strategic priorities and provide support in developing strategies and initiatives based on insights derived from business reporting, fostering collaboration and cross-functional alignment

Project work

• Scoping the business requirements with specific detail for projects within your key functions
• Leading the operational delivery of projects (specific to role)
• Some examples of project work are:
• RevOps
• [London/New York office management]
• Product / geographical expansion
