Senior Business Systems Analyst

Job Description

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst with RBC Global Asset Management, you will partner with GAM business users, GAM Technology teams and RBC Technology teams to assess, research, analyze, and document business and system needs. In this role you will be responsible for working directly with business partners to elicit requirements, designing solutions with the application development team, and overseeing delivery through to production. You will also take an active role in supporting and troubleshooting a suite of in-house developed as well as vendor applications.

What will you do?

• Elicit and refine system requirements and user stories needed to carry out business processes.
• Lead detailed requirement phases by identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving business systems issues
• Work with the development team to design mock-ups, proposed screen layouts and workflows.
• Act as the liaison between the business stakeholders, technology teams and support teams for ongoing product delivery.
• Plan and oversee system testing and provide guidance to users on testing process to facilitate business validation and acceptance of functionality.
• Assess, research, analyze and document sponsor/stakeholder needs in accordance with the Project Life Cycle utilizing reporting tools, and requirements.
• Identify, track and resolve business systems issues
• Ensure adequate end user documentation and training on new applications, processes and system changes.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related work experience
• Demonstrated business system analysis experience, especially working in complex business application environments and with complex business processes
• Strong communication, inter-personal, and coaching skills; project management experience with small-medium sized initiatives, and ability to communicate effectively with business users and technical individuals
• Experience working on multiple assignments and tasks concurrently, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while handling stressful situations with emotional intelligence
• Investment industry experience

Nice-to-have

• Experience with one or more Investment industry application such as Charles River, Eagle, Coric, etc.
• Understanding of data flows, data architecture and data querying ability
• Experience with Microsoft SQL
• Experience in global teams and global IT collaboration/support
