As this is a new position for Gas South, a successful candidate for this role is experienced in developing and implementing procurement policies, procedures, and strategies. You enjoy maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring supplier performance, assessing risks, and collaborating with other departments to determine current and future product needs. You are a skilled contractor negotiator, looking out for the needs of the business and the budget. You are thoroughly organized, maintaining contracts and timelines and leading departments through purchasing procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement and purchasing company-wide to ensure the availability of products and services that meet organizational requirements in terms of quality, volume, availability, and pricing.
  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy that aligns with Gas South’s goals and objectives. This includes identifying potential vendors, negotiating contracts, and establishing systems for monitoring supplier performance to take necessary actions to maintain quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery or implementation.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication, and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Identify potential liabilities and risks in the procurement process and develop strategies to mitigate them. This includes assessing supplier capabilities, evaluating market conditions, and implementing risk management procedures.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to determine current and future product needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Analyze procurement data, identify trends, and improve responsiveness to demands. Prepare and present procurement reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
  • The scope of this role excludes natural gas supply and transportation procurement.

 

Experience:

·        Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 5-7 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Knowledge and application of procurement best practices, industry standards, and regulations.

 

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Location Requirements:

Hybrid remote in Atlanta, GA or Gainesville, FL
