Overview of the role: 

Interested in working on cutting edge SaaS technology and helping to keep food on grocery shelves? As a Senior C# Developer on Upshop’s engineering team, you will serve in one of many cross-functional agile teams in a high-performing, globally distributed organization. You’ll have an opportunity to work with other architects, developers, and Product Owners to build highly performant and reliable web and mobile apps for retail grocery store associates and corporate users. The ideal candidate for this role will have a robust background in developing C# applications.

Responsibilities: 

• Collaborates with clients and/or internal teams to understand user needs; drafts initial proposal and design of software to meet these needs. 
• Assesses feasibility of design and project parameters within time and cost constraints. 
• Analyzes user needs and designs software for client use. 
• Develops code and designs software applications based on user specifications. 
• Modifies existing software to correct errors or improve performance. 
• Gathers and evaluates user feedback and then modifies software for better usability. 
• Designs databases for specific application areas. 
• Collaborates with product, QA, and customer success teams to design systems to support required applications. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience building interfaces with scales or similar retail equipment.
• Extensive knowledge of coding in C# and .NET framework.
• Experience building interfaces with scales or similar retail equipment.
• Experience with TCP/IP communications.
• Experience with developing for Microsoft Azure.  
• Experience with designing and building NoSQL data solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent Object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) skillset.
• Proven experience working in a fast paced, agile environment.
• Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in grocery, food retail, or similar industries.
