Job Description for Calypso Front Office Business Analyst (BA):

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Front Office traders and other end-users to address system-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and provide training and guidance on Calypso functionalities. Ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Lead and Manage LIBOR to IBOR Transition Project within the Front Office. This includes overseeing the migration tools, establishment of new RFR (Risk-Free Rate) indices, implementing fallback mechanisms, and conducting reconciliation activities.
  • Define and test the processes involved in migrating existing LIBOR-based trades to RFR-based trades, ensuring a seamless transition. Develop and execute test plans to validate system changes, ensuring they meet business requirements and regulatory standards
  • Validate valuations, Profit and Loss (PnL) calculations, and risk assessments for various Interest Rate and Credit derivative products. Resolve any issues related to these aspects promptly.
  • Configure the Calypso system to align with business needs, including setting up new instruments, trade workflows, and pricing structures. Collaborate with Front Office users to identify workflow inefficiencies and implement solutions to streamline trading processes. Set up and update pricing environments, PnL configurations, and risk configurations in alignment with business requirements to ensure accurate and efficient operations.
  • Actively participate in Calypso upgrade activities, which may involve validating reports, trade workflows, valuations, PnL calculations, and the setup of new marks and reports.
  • Setup new task stations as needed to enhance operational efficiency and support Front Office functions. Maintain comprehensive documentation of Calypso configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Front Office (FO) and Back Office (BO) users to guide them through the new processes, highlighting any differences from previous procedures. Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities to ensure successful implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the Front Office domain, with expertise in Calypso. Proficiency in configuring and customizing the Calypso system to meet business needs.
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, trade lifecycles, and LIBOR to IBOR transition processes, including migration tools and RFR indices.
  • Proficiency in validating valuations, PnL, and risk assessments for derivative products.
  • Familiarity with pricing environments and risk configurations in a financial services setting.
  • Previous involvement in Calypso upgrade activities is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with both Front Office and Back Office teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing system-related issues. Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and problem-solving.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees or certifications in finance or business are a bonus.
