Purpose:

Provide operational and decision-making support to the Bank's Investments group related to asset /liability management, investment acquisition, and compliance with all requisite Bank policies.

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by persons assigned to the job. Specific Responsibilities:

Lead Investments group's daily operations:

  • Coordinate activity between portfolio managers and analysts to ensure that daily analysis, trade processing, portfolio monitoring, and managerial reporting is completed for the Bank's Mortgage-Backed Securities, whole loan mortgage, and short-term investment portfolios

Support enhancements to the Bank's MPP pricing and modeling framework:

  • Implement expanded performance monitoring metrics such as benchmarking, stress testing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing
  • Incorporate operating cost and liquidity premium into the pricing framework
  • Incorporate debt optimization into the modeling process
  • Refine payup methodology for 20-year loans, low loan balance, and seasoned pools

Support modernization of the Investments group's analytic and reporting capabilities via process automation and data visualization:

  • Ensure compliance with the Bank's Script Management Policy
  • Manage GIT repositories to host department scripts
  • Manage libraries and packages to promote new script development
  • Cross train Investments staff members on Python scripting techniques and best practices

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to model and operational risk management:

  • Review EUC maintenance scan and EUC inventory
  • Complete EUC/MEUC Control Standards testing
  • Conduct model performance monitoring
  • Support enhancement of EUC/MEUC and Model Documentation

Manage TBA and MBS margining activities in accordance with the Bank's MSFTAs to support compliance with FINRA Rule 4210

Support configuration, testing, and implementation of the Mortgage-Backed Securities and Short-Term portfolio modernization projects, including necessary updates to Calypso, Data Warehouse, and/or other technology platforms purchased to support these initiatives:

  • Ensure that system is capturing all necessary data and that it is structured in such a way to support departmental reporting needs
  • Ensure system's compliance engine supports needed pre-trade capacity calculations

Function as liaison with other departments, including Financial Controls, Enterprise Risk Management, and Information Technology.

Position Requirements:

  • BS with concentration in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a financial institution.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, and Word.
  • Experience with Python highly preferred.
  • Experience with Bloomberg, PolyPaths, Calypso, and/or mortgage prepayment/default models preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must not have been convicted on any civil or criminal charge that would suggest a risk to Bank security.
  • Ability to work full time.
  • Ability to uphold and model the Bank's Guiding Principles.
