Job Overview

The Senior Cash Accountant is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Cash Accounting team, who is responsible for the completion and accuracy of cash postings and bank reconciliations for Keurig Dr Pepper. This position works closely with the offshore accounting team and serves as their first point of contact. This position also partners with various areas of the company, including Treasury, Direct Store Delivery (DSD) branches, Corporate Accounting, International Accounting, Tax, IT, Master Data, Route Audit, AP, AR, Cash Apps, Benefits.

This position is based in our Frisco, TX office and will have a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days work from home)

Position Responsibilities

  • SME for all cash processes including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Perform the reconciliation of certain cash GL accounts, including problematic and complex accounts escalated from offshore team.
  • Perform research and analysis on bank overages and shortages.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings with various departments to resolve open items and issues affecting Cash accounts.
  • Perform cash related month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Review monthly journal entry audits for completeness and accuracy.
  • Support offshore team by reviewing journal entries and other deliverables for accuracy.
  • Train offshore team on new Cash Accounting processes and perform real time training on an ad hoc basis as needed.
  • Create SOPs for new processes or processes that have not been documented fully or have had significant changes as needed.
  • Identify and implement ways to streamline processes for increased efficiency.
  • Work on special projects as requested. Special projects would include business process and procedure documentation, business integration implementation, system enhancement, process efficiency enhancement, and other projects as assigned.
  • Support business initiatives with cash accounting implications, such as acquisitions, reroutes between sales offices and new business.
  • Work with IT to perform testing of new system implementations.
  • Coordinate GL cash account changes with Master Data.
  • Assist Cash Accounting Supervisor with Unclaimed Property Audit requests and questions.
  • Assist the Cash Accounting Supervisor with external audits, Sarbanes-Oxley control testing, and Internal audits.
Requirements

  • Education: BS/BA Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Previous Work Experience: 3 - 5 years accounting/finance experience. Cash accounting related experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge/experience of U.S. GAAP required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Proficient with SAP or other related software (PeopleSoft, Oracle)
