Senior C/C++ Application Developer

Project Description

Our team is working for one of the world's largest providers of products and services for the ever-evolving needs of the energy industry. Oil and gas domain, well logging.

We are working with Azure cloud, GIT, Kubernetes, using C++. Using SCRUM framework.

Project itself has multiple components - different measurement tools that go into the well, many desktop applications for each tool. We are working on development of embedded software under VxWorks RTOS. This software is the part of the system, which directly connects to the tools down in the well. It's managing the first hardware piece on the surface that communicates with the tools down the well and allows for reading measurements and sending control commands to devices in the well.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze tasks in Product Backlog Items provided by the Product owner• Participation in grooming sessions and proactive task requirements and acceptance criteria clarification• Work with the team on the development and resolving issues• Implement software changes from Product Backlog Items and technical requirements• Work with the QA team to determine if the application fit Product Backlog Items and technical requirements• Identify and fix bugs, find solutions to the problems• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation• Maintain the developed software efficiently through a solid knowledge of software lifecycle

Skills

Must have

• 5+ years of experience in C/C++• Environment and tools: Linux, GIT, Make, CMake, Sh, Bash, Batch• Embedded software development using C and C++• Experience with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, QNX• General knowledge about distributed systems (client-server)• Experience with real-time operating systems• Experience using CAN bus and RS-232 protocols• Knowledge and experience operating electrical equipment

Nice to have

• Communication protocols• Telemetry encoding/decoding• Device Drivers under different operating systems• Control loop and algorithms
