Title: Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist
Role Description:
The Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) is a senior medical scribe who serves as a coach for medical scribes in our clinics. Scribes are partnered with a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant to support charting, billing, coding, and EMR navigation in an effort to offer an exceptional patient experience and maximize provider efficiency. The Sr. CIS is expected to lead, coach, and support a region of scribes, in partnership with the clinic Clinic Administrators (CA), Regional Operations Directors (ROD), Regional Vice Presidents (RVP) and medical directors. The Sr. CIS is expected to have deep knowledge in key aspects of OSH business model, including (but not limited to): Risk Score, Fee for Service Revenue, Stars, and Greenway templates and flowsheets
Senior CISs will perform many of the normal CIS functions in addition to expanded duties; ~40%+ of their time is reserved for administrative duties.

Core Responsibilities:
Leadership & Coaching:
- Partner with the CA/ROD/RVP to support the hiring, onboarding and ongoing training of scribes
- Support Oak Street Health initiatives by ensuring clinic scribes are properly trained and executing workflows that drive high quality patient care and support our care model including but not limited to: EMR documentation hygiene, thorough charting, quality metric compliance and prompting provider to address patient care gaps
- Follow the CIS Evaluation Timeline for each regional CIS including routine shadowing of provider/CIS pairs, chart reviews and assessment of gaps in CIS knowledge, as well as addressing any inconsistencies that arise from evaluations
- Report results of evaluations and reviews to central and regional leaders
- Partner with CA/ROD/RVP and/or central support to highlight any trends in team training, execution, or other opportunities for improved workflows, efficiency or experience
- Organize quarterly scribe events for his/her region to support team building
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
- Sr. CISs are expected to acquire and demonstrate mastery of content to support their work including but not limited to: coding and billing, EMR navigation, Risk score, Stars, Huddle Forms.
- Serve as a medical scribe on a provider care team when coverage is necessary
- Attend quarterly CIS Company-wide Training
- Organize the agenda for and deliver a portion of one quarterly CIS Company-wide Training/ year
- Organize and deliver a monthly training for regional CIS team
- Attend quarterly Sr CIS training, hosted by central leadership team
Other duties, as assigned.

- In good standing as a CIS/scribe
