Senior Cloud Architect

The Senior Cloud Architect is a subject matter expert responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of our datacenter and public computing -hybrid cloud- infrastructure including but not limited to networking, security, compute, virtualization, database, and storage. The Senior Cloud Architect is expected to solve critical and complex problems in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and operates as a trusted technical advisor and influencer to all infrastructure and operations teams, engineering directors and executive management. The candidate will also evangelize the adoption of forward-looking technologies and methods while mentoring technical leaders and key stakeholders as technical roadmaps are established to ensure maximum performance, scalability and security.

Requirements:

§  B.A. or B.S. (or higher level degree) in Computer Science or a similar engineering program with strong academic performance. CCIE in relevant technologies highly desired

§  20+ years of experience in cloud computing and/or data center operations

§  Data center architecture design and roadmap execution

§  Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, such as AWS and Azure

§  Network Engineering must have:  

o   Multi-site or multi-pod ACI implementation

o   CCIE in relevant technologies highly desired

o   Network security: IDS, IPS, Firepower, monitoring platforms, DDOS Data Protection (Akamai/CloudFlare), Microsegmentation

o   Design of highly available/high performance/highly scalable redundant networks

o   ISP management

o   IPAM

o   IPv6 design and deployment at the enterprise and data center

o   Very strong knowledge on OSPF and BGP for ISP, public clouds and private peerings

o   Virtual private networking and security

o   Extreme must have: F5 load balancer at high scale

o   Cisco Networking, Cisco Nexus

o   Monitoring

§  Operating systems Windows, Linux – Hardening

§  Containerization, network security, load balancing, auto scale, Metal LB, Cilium

§  Data center virtualization technologies: VMware

§  Cisco UCS

§  Automation frameworks including Terraform, Ansible

§  Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines

§  Experience supporting IoT driven workloads

§  Proven experience designing and implementing geographical dispersed infrastructure: multi-site, multi-cloud

§  Disaster recovery and data center failover architectures

§  Experience architecting highly transactional database systems (relational/no relational)

§  Capacity planning and forecasting

§  Strong relationships with key technology partners: Cisco, NetApp, PureStorage, Rubrik, F5 Networks
