Senior Cloud BI Developer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT team at Milliman GCS is looking for Senior Cloud BI Developer to join the growing team at the Milliman Cloud Platform. The person in this role will partner with the technology team to plan, design, develop and launch various projects dealing with the latest Cloud and Package technologies that drives simplification and enhances the portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partner with the Business team and IT to prepare and program various projects related to the latest Cloud and Package technologies
• Deliver across the entire app life cycle from concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support.
• Quickly integrate and update projects. Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing project tasks on schedule and by interacting with other developers. These solutions are critical and crucial to various front-end as well as server-based applications
• Provide technical insight on existing Cloud platforms to improve performance, availability and utilization optimizations.
• Performs research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform
• Evaluate, suggest and implement third party software as needed
• Make efficient use of source control and bug tracking systems
• Reviews estimates for software development and delivery to ensure quality and accuracy Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability
• Partner with the Business and IT teams to test and iterate on developed software and programs
• Prepare projects for hand-off and deployments as "proof concepts" move to production
• Ability to quickly adapt to changes and learning from field testing

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• BS Degree In Computer Science or related discipline
• The ideal candidate must have minimum of 3 years' experience working as an AWS developer or in similar capacity.
• The ideal candidate must have professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
• The ideal candidate must have previous experience with Serverless (Fargate, Lambda), C#, .NET Core, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, REST, and Amazon DynamoDB.
• Must have previous experience with distributed programming practices.
• Must have previous experience with vendors and 3rd party software providers for a full application solution.
• Must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders.
