Role SnapshotOur Senior Data Engineer will build the next generation of data pipelines and data platforms in the Azure Cloud for WPS Health solutions across the enterprise. This critical position will develop a new platform based on a Data Lakehouse architecture to fundamentally transform the way WPS uses data. Will work with clients and partners to determine data needs and ensures solutions are highly usable, scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective while conforming to industry best practices.
In this role you will:
- Provide consultation regarding data platform terminology, concepts, and practices.
- Provide on-going support for consistent, accurate, and complete data requirements, models, and definitions.

- Can define, develop, and implement data pipelines from internal and external data sources using Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) best practices.
- Have previously deployed production quality code to the cloud in a cost-effective, reliable, and efficient manner.
- Can engineer solutions using SQL and Python (or Scala) for data processing (in this role Python preferred).
- Are interested in designing data platform solutions for a greenfield, company-wide initiative in the Azure Cloud - Azure GCC High.
- Are a self-starter who can work in ambiguous situations, rapidly learn, and adapt.
- Possess excellent skillsets in general data engineering and management, client interaction, and design usability.
- Have experience in Agile project methodologies.
- Like working on a fun, enthusiastic, high functioning, technologically savvy and hard-working team.
- Approach challenges head on with creativity, determination, and passion that ignites other to do so as well.
- Can partner with other organizational entities, (e.g., Finance, Actuarial, Enterprise Architecture, Data Warehouse) to determine most effective data models for analytical reports.
- Have experience using the Medallion Architecture to model, organize, and aggregate data in Databricks.

Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience.
- 2 or more years of related technical work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 or more years of exp working on cloud data solutions in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience building data ingestion, processing, and analytical pipelines in the Azure Cloud, preferably using Python and Azure Databricks. Experience with a Data Lakehouse architecture is strongly preferred. This includes ELT principles and patterns as well as in-depth and professional production experience with:
- Azure Data Factory
- Databricks
- Python
- Spark SQL
- Apache Parquet
- Delta Lake
- Working with agile methodologies using CI/CD techniques in a DevOps environment using Azure DevOps
- Experienced in producing and maintaining detailed technical documentation.
Salary Range
$125,000 ~ $160,000
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may fall outside the posted range.

Remote Worker Requirements
For remote position, employee is required to meet remote worker requirements, including a designated workstation, a wired (Ethernet) connection to the network, and a minimum of 10Mbps downstream connection with at least 1Mbps upstream (can be checked at https://speedtest.net)
