You will work with cloud based, and distributed storage, and caching technologies to enable new and improve existing high volume, low latency payment systems. As an experienced member of our Software Engineering team, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. This Senior Data Engineering role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Requirements -
- Self-starter and motivated to dive innovation within data engineering to architect, build and manage an efficient data platform to support payment flows using low latency, high frequency technologies
- Extensive experience in developing complex relational (Oracle) as well as NoSQL (Cassandra) data stores, or distributed relation databases in a medium to large company with excellent knowledge of data pipeline development
- Hands-on experience in software engineering in Java web services and API development
- Deep understanding of Java, Spring Core, Junit, Jmeter and DevOps
- Prior experience in a technical role supporting and designing data technologies on VSIs, preferably private or public cloud (AWS)
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, performance tuning & analyze performance statistics
- Strong business acumen in the Banking is preferred
- Comfortable with change using Agile Scrum or Kanban
- Excellent communication skills

- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems
- Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
