Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

Description

As Sr Cloud DevOps Engineer you will support InVue's mission, which is to improve customer experience, security, and operations for the world's most valuable brands in retail and critical infrastructure; by enabling the development of scalable B2B software products and services.

InVue's IoT solutions empower global customers to gain operational visibility, control access, decrease theft, and enhance user experience in retail stores, datacenter environments, and geo-distributed infrastructure. InVue's software solutions allow businesses to make better decisions, achieve operational targets, and protect their most valuable assets.

Reporting to the Director of Software Solutions Engineering, you will be responsible for managing cloud infrastructure using Azure, GCP, and AWS, and automating the deployment and configuration process using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud technologies, scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Bash, and a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing and implementing automated deployment and configuration processes using tools like Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Managing cloud infrastructure using Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Monitoring and logging systems using tools like ELK Stack, Grafana and Nagios.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with development and operations teams to ensure the smooth delivery of software applications and services.
• Troubleshooting production issues and providing support to other teams.
• Evaluating and implementing new technologies to improve software delivery processes.
• Ensuring security and compliance of technology stack, applications and infrastructure.
• Influence peers within engineering and product management to achieve software delivery targets and success metrics, and drive design efficiency of an IoT platform and cloud-first services across responsive web, Android, and iOS applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree required; preferred in Computer Science or Engineering
• 10+ years of Cloud DevOps experience
• 3+ years of software development experience on a team with at least 5 developers
• Architecture and system design for cloud-based SaaS solutions
• Have a strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, scripting skills in Python, Perl or Bash, containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Have a passion for staying current with new technologies and trends and be proactive in seeking out opportunities to learn new skills
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to think creatively to find solutions to challenging problems
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitLab CI.
• Be familiar with the concepts of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment
• Knowledgeable about security and compliance, and should understand the importance of protecting sensitive data and applications
• Have experience implementing security and compliance measures in their work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, operate gracefully under stress and handle multiple assignments in parallel
• Fluent in English
