Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

As a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer at Progyny, you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to support the CI/CD process for our overall Engineering team. You will work with a cross-functional team of Software, Database, IT and InfoSec engineers to enable rapid development, configuration management of the source code, and supporting testing, deployment, and production sustaining activities.

What you’ll do... 

• Own, extend, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

• Work alongside with SREs and system architects to design, test, launch, and operate cloud based serverless and container-based workloads. 

• Extend the existing system for new applications as needed. 

• Ensure the infrastructure is secure, recoverable (disaster recovery and data), regularly maintained (security patches, tool upgrades), and automated where possible. 

• Ensure the infrastructure is structured in a cost-effective manner. 

• Approaches infrastructure architecture from a design driven standpoint with security, reliability and scalability as its core. 

• Monitoring, incident identification, prioritizing incidents, incident reporting and documentation, running routine incident response exercises to proactively prepare for potential security breaches and effectively manage incidents when they occur. 

• Debug and develop code in either Python or Bash.

About you... 

• 5+ years of DevOps Experience 

• 2+ years of Python or Bash 

• Strong knowledge of Docker and Terraform 

• Experience with various systems as Datadog, GitHub or Flosum 

• First-hand experience with configuration management and orchestration tools such as CloudFormation or HCL, Terraform, CDKs, Kubernetes and etc. 

• Knowledge of CI/CI pipelines and cloud-based Git hosting providers (e.g. Github) 

• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL Databases and big data platforms 

• Ability to work independently and take initiative 

• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across multiple teams 

• Prior experience with security tools nice to have 

• Demonstrable background in building and scaling Cloud infrastructure 

• Detailed understanding of the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Delivery/Deployment tooling such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline Suite

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $145,000 - $155,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
