POSITION OVERVIEW

Working within in the platforms team, the Senior Cloud Engineer, engineers and builds systems and services furnished by the infrastructure service delivery group. This is a hands-on engineering role chiefly centered around Amazon Web Services and some Microsoft Azure Services. We seek an engineer with demonstrated experience of migrating to Amazon Web Services and is comfortable creating infrastructure as code, and automation solutions. The ideal individual will be comfortable working in support of business objectives. We seek a seasoned professional who has a customer focused execution and a track record of process improvement in previous positions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As an integral member of the engineering team design and integrate secure and scalable solutions into the organization's infrastructure and AWS, based on developing business requirements. Ensure that projects designed in group meet our required security criteria according to the Board policies and Enterprise Architecture Standards
  • Plan and deploy reliable, secure, scalable, high availability systems. Ensure consistent standards and configuration issues related to installations and administration of systems including upgrades, patches, fixes, etc.
  • Builds AWS resources using cloud-native thinking
  • Builds and maintains scalable computing infrastructure in the cloud
  • Provides technical support designing, implementing, and maintaining Cloud based solutions. Identifies, resolves, or escalates platform or software issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies for abuse prevention and improved security
  • Research and implement ways to optimize AWS operating cost
  • Work in a fast-paced continuous learning environment
  • Be the AWS expert on our engineering team, and work with developers to use AWS to its full potential


QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated capability in Amazon Web Services Implementation and migration effort
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code
  • Strong all-around knowledge of AWS and how to apply it to DevSecOps, InfraOps, and CI/CD
  • Identity Management and Access Management/Security Concepts (Oauth II, Kerberos, Active Directory, ADFS, Microsoft RBAC, AD-Connect, SSO, Keyvault (Certs, Secrets, Connection Strings)
  • Ability to analyze wide range of complex enterprise-wide issues in providing end to end services. Broad understanding across all Infrastructure technologies being utilized with NBME including cloud-based providers (Salesforce, Boomi and Azure in addition to AWS) Problem Solving Skills and the ability to independently propose new solutions
  • Scripting skills utilizing PowerShell, Python, etc to automate deployments and routine tasks.
  • Development experience in Python, focused on data and APIs (applicants with Java engineering experience also considered)
  • Experience migrating applications to AWS platforms and integrating third party products on AWS.
  • Bamboo/GitHub/Jenkins/ AWS pipeline
  • Understanding of Microservices and event driven architecture
  • Boomi, API Gateway knowledge and experience
  • ITIL experience is a plus. Knowledge of Incident, Change, and Problem and Service management frameworks is a must to be able to provide end to end service delivery required in the NBME environments.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills. Professional developments such as interpersonal skills and technical skills are a must. Must be able to communicate effectively with technical staff and executives

Experience
  • Minimum 7-10 years applicable experience
  • AWS Certification Associate Architect desired
  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience
