Our patented technology allows us to scan the digital tags on a website and check for functionality and security. Position Overview

ObservePoint's engineering team is seeking a highly technical, hands-on leader that will architect and mentor teammates to quickly build world-class products our customers love. That's not just a slogan for us - it is part of our DNA.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to gather data requirements and use cases, analyze information to determine, recommend and design solutions
• Design and implement high scale, highly reliable software systems
• Design and implement cloud architectures
• Create high-level architectural specifications, frameworks and initial proofs of concept, as well as help teams execute against the plan
• Coordinate with teams in 2 time zones
• Code with teammates
• Mentor other engineers

Qualifications

• Computer science degree (or other evidence you are a super smart/fast engineer)
• 6+ years hands-on Java (or Kotlin) backend experience
• 6+ years designing and building cloud-native systems
• 2+ years developing JavaScript-based applications (Node.js preferred)
• 2 + years of hands-on experience using AWS console to administer managed services
• Years of hands-on experience developing useful unit tests
• Experience diagraming, designing and implementing SaaS applications in the cloud
• Can write effective, well-designed, scalable REST APIs
• Enterprise experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design patterns, micro-service architecture patterns, and a fundamental understanding of cloud deployments and methodologies
• Experience debugging, performance profiling and optimization in a cloud environment
• Strong inclination towards improving solutions and processes

Preferred Experience

• Good communication skills (verbal/written)
• Experience with Scrum or Kanban agile methodologies
• AWS certifications
• Experience with Terraform strongly desired
• Experience with Docker containers
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or CircleCi
• Experience with Snowflake
• Experience with Caching frameworks
• Advanced CS-related degree(s)
