Senior Cloud Engineer 

Job Location: Aerospike, Inc. 2525 E. Charleston Rd., Suite 201, Mountain View, CA 94043.

With a high degree of independent decision-making capability and minimum supervision, the Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the following job duties:

1. Improve the design, and development of our proprietary cloud components of our distributed database system.
2. Manage teams to provide automated multi-cloud infrastructure.
3. Teach the use of Kubernetes, Stateful Sets, and cloud technologies to subordinates to build Aerospike's cloud presence.
4. Write software to facilitate our long-term cloud goals.
5. Enhance cloud system components such as SSD arrays for suitability to be used in a system hosting an Aerospike workload.
6. Develop and test Aerospike database system clusters to assess cloud performance under production workloads, and to analyze issues arising under heavy load conditions using automated methods in UNIX/Linux environments and profiling tools such as Unix perf and Wireshark.
7. Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine performance workflows.
8. Design, develop and document Aerospike Cloud tools for automating deployment and operations in cloud and container-based environments.
9. Work with customers, product and solutions architecture teams to understand requirements10. Instruct teams to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of the platform.
10. Developing and improving cloud system infrastructure by using benchmarks, profiles, and other forensic tools to isolate the root causes of performance anomalies.
11. Analyze and decompose complex cloud infrastructure architecture specifications and design strategies to enhance and maintain these systems for deployment on AWS, GCP, and Azure.
12. Oversee reports including test results, root cause analysis, tuning guidelines and cloud feature suggestions to support performance- related goals.

This position requires a master’s or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or closely related and three (3) years professional experience as a as a Software Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or closely related occupation. 

Must have experience with Golang, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Jenkins, Docker, Bash, Ansible, MongoDB.
