Senior Cloud Engineer (22-026)
Job Description
CTI is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our fast growing engineering organization. We are looking for highly technical candidates that are passionate about building technology with purpose, can think outside the box, and are excited to work on challenging, innovative, projects as we seek to make the invisible, visible.
In this role, you'll be part of a team of software developers building modern, cloud native, software in support of data engineering, advanced analytics, and visualization on a variety of platforms and environments. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of emerging cloud technologies, platforms, containerization, and dataops. They will have a strong understanding of building scalable cloud data infrastructure. This role will be a part of a team that is seeking to push the limits of cloud technologies and build systems that have real impact.
- Work with engineers to automate analytics and visualization, advise, and implement, transformation processes, and explore ways to design and develop data infrastructure.
- Research, recommend and implement innovative solutions for cloud infrastructure and architecture
- Modify software and algorithms designed for traditional environments to operate in cloud environments
- -Perform requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship - all positions require a U.S. Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- 6-8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, or related work
- Experience developing APIs and microservices
- Experience working in highly collaborative teams
- Experience with Cloud Native development on Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure
- Experience in building Kafka pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, and Cloud formation templates
- Experience in setting up Prometheus/Grafana or ELK monitoring tools.
- Experience in open source or Confluent Kafka, zookeepers, Kafka connect and schema registry.
- Experience with data engineering, machine learning, analytics, and data management
- Experience with relational and key value data stores, such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, or Redis
- Continuous Deployment or Delivery, preferably with Flux CD (GitOps)
- Ability to concentrate on a wide range of loosely defined complex situations, which require creativity and originality, where guidance and counsel may be unavailable.
- Engage in building out a large scale distributed and event based data platform
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, persuasively with technology and business stakeholders
- Ability to document work and ideas effectively in writing
Bonus Skills
- Network (SDN) and K8 CNI experience
- Experience as Linux (RHEL) /Unix administrator.
- Experience in High availability cluster setup, maintenance and ongoing 24/7 support
- Graphic and visualization development experience
- Experience with geospatial mapping
- Experience with cellular protocols, wireless protocols, software defined radios, rf spectrum, electronic warfare, signals processing/intelligence, and/or geospatial analytics
- CICD in air-gapped environments
