Senior Cloud Engineer

Job Description:

The Job/What You'll Do:

AssetMark seeks a knowledgeable, talented, and industrious Senior Cloud Engineer who will work alongside the IT teams to ensure maximum performance, reliability, and scalability of the AssetMark Cloud infrastructure.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to one of our following offices: Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and support of Azure, AWS, and GCP Cloud environments and services
• Work with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Application Development teams to design and implement technology solutions and facilitate complete integration into the AssetMark Cloud environment
• Implement cloud-native performance monitoring, tuning, and alerting to ensure continuous performance and availability of applications.
• Design and manage databases on Azure, including data modeling, indexing, and optimization for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Troubleshoot Cloud related problem areas and issues as needed to resolve operational issues and restore/optimize services
• Maintain knowledge of Public Cloud related topics, including emerging technologies, Market Place services, industry best practices, and regulatory/compliance related concerns
• Management and administration of Azure AD, DNS, and MFA services
• Design and implement automated solutions for cloud deployment, migrations, maintenance, and issue resolution
• Champion a DevOps mindset, practices, and principles throughout the organization
• Implement security measures to protect applications and data, as well as ensuring compliance with industry regulations and Azure security standards.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: (Outline what systems, language, professional attributes, communication skills the candidate would need to be successful in the position)

• Advanced experience designing, implementing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code tools and principles (i.e. Terraform, ARM Templates, CloudFormation, etc.); extensive Terraform experience preferred
• Advanced experience with writing scripts for various Infrastructure related tasks (PowerShell and/or Python preferred)
• Extensive experience in troubleshooting complex issues in cloud environments
• Advanced experience with data platform technologies including Azure SQL Database, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Synapse Data Warehouse and Data Lake.
• Understanding of Cloud VDI solutions and scalability services
• Advanced technical expertise with Microsoft Azure including foundational services such as Virtual Machines, Storage, Load Balancers, Azure Active Directory, App Service, Logic Apps, etc.
• Cloud based WAF and firewall services
• Cloud Load Balancer/Application Gateway services along with F5 load balancers
• Experience implementing Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics
• Experience with Kubernetes and implementation in the cloud (AKS, EKS, or GKE) and related technologies (various ingress controllers, Helm charts, GitOps, etc.)
• Experience working with Azure DevOps pipelines and environments or other CI/CD tooling
• Experience with CDN caching services and solutions
• Knowledge and familiarity with adjacent technology areas including Network, Security, Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Monitoring
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
• Experience implementing, managing, and maintaining distributed application delivery across multiple geographies

Education & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in Public and Private Cloud environments, Required
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification Preferred
• Bachelors Degree in IT or related technical field or combination of education and relevant experience, Required
