Position Summary

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will architect and manage cloud infrastructure for internal stakeholders, ensuring high availability and cost-efficiency while automating deployment pipelines. This role demands expertise in managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), automating CI/CD pipelines with both Jenkins and GitHub Actions, and overseeing container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based applications and services.

The Contribution: (responsibilities and activities that this person will perform)

  • AWS Infrastructure Management:
    1. Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
    2. Optimize resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
    3. Monitor AWS services and implement automated scaling and alerting solutions.
  • Infrastructure as Code:
    1. Develop, maintain, and enhance infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
    2. Version control IaC configurations and collaborate with the development teams to ensure smooth deployments.
  • CI/CD Automation:
    1. Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using both Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
    2. Automate build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring flexibility and redundancy.
    3. Implement best practices for code quality, security, and performance in CI/CD workflows.
  • Container Orchestration:
    1. Manage Amazon EKS and Amazon ECS environments, including deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting.
    2. Implement security policies to ensure compliance with best practices.
    3. Optimize container orchestration platforms for resource allocation and performance.
  • Infrastructure Security:
    1. Implement security best practices and policies for AWS resources, Kubernetes, and ECS.
    2. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
    3. Respond to and remediate security incidents promptly.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services and solutions.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and/or AWS CDK for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon ECS administration and container orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD automation using technologies such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Nodejs) and familiarity with automation tools.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • AWS and Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
