Senior Cloud Engineering Manager

Toyota Connected is looking for a Senior Manager to join our growing team! This person will be a pivotal leader to contribute to our growth strategy, as well as Toyota's overall mission of becoming a mobility company. As a part of a fast-growing tech company closely aligned with the world's largest automaker, this role builds the capability for our organization to scale and get to market faster.

Responsibilities:

• Own the SDLC toolchain and develop best practices using modern methods
• Lead cloud platform strategy & execution with emphasis on developer efficiency, cybersecurity, stability and reusability
• Lead Global API Management deployment, adoption and best practices
• Work with product teams to engineer cloud environments in a highly performant and compliant standard including, but not limited to, networking, orchestration, compute
• Work across product, security, and DevOps teams to create world class patterns and blueprints
• Develop and manage roadmaps, technical debt, delivery, key performance indicators, and OKRs
• Lead and mentor teams with empathy, a focus on career development and mission oriented
• Act as a key stakeholder in globalized product development and delivery, you will work with and influence teams in varying levels of seniority and distribution
• Build on an emerging FinOps practice to deliver fiscally responsible solutions and engineering principles to unlock greater savings without sacrificing reliability

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• Expertise managing, training, guiding, coaching, and mentoring senior and manager level engineers with positive results
• Strong public cloud engineering principles including secrets management, Infrastructure as Code, microservices architecture
• Strong knowledge in CI/CD practices, including A/B testing, canary deployments across mobile, IoT, Data domains
• Ability to develop healthy working relationships and collaborate with peers and leaders
• Ability to lead teams through complex or ambiguous situations or challenges
• Ability to monitor employee performance and provide feedback for development
• Ability to build trust and cooperation amongst team members
• Ability to foster engagement amongst team
• Ability to establish a clear vision and strategy for the team
• Demonstrates advanced problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
• Solutions-oriented with an ability to keep an open mind while finding agreeable solutions
• Displays care, empathy, and understanding towards team members including valuing diversity and differences amongst individuals
• Ability to manage team(s) through periods of high stress, demand, or change
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• We think the knowledge acquired earning an BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field would be of great value in this position, but if you're smart and have the experience that backs up your abilities, for us, talent trumps degree every time
• Experience in Data Engineering, Science, Machine Learning/AI and IoT a plus

This position is based in Plano, Texas. Toyota Connected encourages all employees to live within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned work location for Hybrid work. Relocation assistance is available.
