Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Computer Vision and Remote Sensing

The Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Software Group at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team operating at the forefront of Computer Vision technology applied to satellite imagery. In this role you will work in a team-oriented group of algorithm developers, applied scientists, and software developers to create, modularize, optimize, and deploy Python and C++-based software solutions to the AWS cloud environment. You will work on a cutting-edge Computer Vision pipeline that processes satellite imagery to automatically create realistic, textured 3D geometric models of real-world scenes.

Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Responsibilities include:

• Contribute expertise in DevOps and DevSecOps, software engineering, infrastructure, and SRE in support of multiple software systems
• Ownership of the backend technology stack

Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Qualifications:

• US citizenship required(green card holders are not eligible for this position)
• Eligibility to apply for and hold a U.S. security clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment)
• Prior experience designing, building, and deploying containerized services in the AWS cloud environment
• Proficient in infrastructure automation and release engineering
• Proficient in best practices for security, observability, reliability, performance, and incident response
• Fluent in one or more object-oriented programming languages
• Prior professional experience designing APIs

Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Education and Experience Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field with 7-9 years of relevant experience OR M.S. with 5-7 years of relevant experience OR Ph.D. with 3-5 years of relevant experience
