The Role:

We are transforming technology and creating a digital evolution that will empower Centene to better serve our members. As a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer this role will be responsible for implementation and management of the public cloud ML Ops offerings for Centene. The Engineer will help support the design, delivery, enhancement, and maintenance of Centene's JupyterHub and Posit/RStudio AWS Cloud platforms. This person will operate in a hybrid cloud environment that spans multi-tenant private data centers and public cloud.

Position Purpose:

Design, build, test and maintain scalable Cloud ML Ops Platforms to support Data Analytics, Data Science, and Machine Learning.

Plans and oversees the configuration of software and infrastructure services on the cloud platform. Manages cloud infrastructure as code. Automates deployment and administration. Ensures security of cloud components. Collaborates with the DevOps team to manage and lead upgrades, enhancements, and software migrations to drive the successful deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications.

Builds and support the administration of cloud-based environments.

Develops and executes code-based CI/CD deployment plans for new and existing infrastructure based on standards and best-practices provided.

Develops and implements monitoring solutions that give greater visibility into performance and reliability of cloud environments.

Collaborates with Development, Network and Security groups and integrate their requirements in all environment build plans.

Builds and maintains capacity plans to include cloud based deployments.

Develops and implements technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing and advanced analytics.

Delivers continuous integration and delivery pipeline and standards by enabling common DevSecOps tooling in cloud environment and providing development teams with the ability to execute builds, run tests, and deploy in automated fashion.

Additionally you will bring:

A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).

Requires 4 - 6 years of related experience.

Technical Skills:

Experience with one or more of the following Other: Cloud Formation, Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager required

Experience with Amazon Web Services; Ansible required

Experience with Other: Puppet required

Experience with one or more of the following Other: programming languages such as Java, C, Scala, Python, Erlang, Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, etc. required

Experience with Other: networking and firewall concepts and troubleshooting. required

Knowledge of Other: automation languages such as Shell Scripting, Python, Golang, etc. required

Preferred Skills:

Python & R

Experience with JupyterHub, Jupyter Notebooks

Experience with Posit/RStudio (RStudio IDE, Connect, Package Manager)

Continuous Integration tools and strategies

DevOps, GitOps, ML Ops, and Platform Engineering concepts

Problem solving and resolution (root cause identification)

Linux/Unix OS (Ubuntu)

Network security

Database technologies SQL and NOSQL

Nice to have:

Interest in Data Science & Machine Learning

Experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, ML Flow, Spark)

Interest in learning new technologies and getting outside comfort zone
