About the Team
The Cloud Engineering team is responsible for building cloud native ClickHouse Cloud Platform that will transform the OLAP space. Our team is looking for an exceptional senior software quality engineer for our cloud dataplane team to improve efficiency and quality of the end-to-end data plane in different CSPs. You will build out automation of critical operational functions that ensure ClickHouse Cloud operates smoothly worldwide at massive scale and in all CSPs. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with a very strong background developing test automation for SaaS and distributed systems. This role is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our elastic, limitless scale, high-performance, server less ClickHouse Cloud.
What will you do?
- Build and enhance test automation framework and develop automated test cases.
- Design and develop automated test suites for ClickHouse Cloud.
- Implement testing strategies and automation for large and complex distributed systems.
- Work closely with ClickHouse core development team, cloud team, security team and partner with them to improve the quality of ClickHouse Cloud.
- Work with the core developers to enhance the test coverage and ensure high quality during production rollouts.
- Participate in test planning, test execution and sign-off of product releases.
- Work with performance engineers to build automation for performance, scalability, reliability and enable chaos tests.
- Plan, enable, and drive Chaos initiatives across Engineering teams, based upon internal priorities
About you:
- You have 6+ years of relevant software industry experience automating and testing scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- You have built, maintained and scaled infrastructure throughout the lifecycle of development, test and deployment to Dev, QA, and production environments.
- Thorough knowledge of quality assurance methodologies used throughout the SDLC and are well versed in the application of industry standards and best practices.
- Experience testing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
- You have experience with Kubernetes based cloud stacks, working knowledge of popular SQL/ NoSQL databases and modern open source infrastructure services.
- Strong background developing test automation for SaaS and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, including with remote teams. Ability to learn complex technology quickly, work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
- Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their infrastructure as a service offering (e.g. EC2).
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and across engineering teams.
- You are a strong problem solver and have solid production debugging skills.
- You thrive in a fast paced environment, and see yourself as a partner with the business with the shared goal of moving the business forward.
