Role Overview:

McAfee Content Ops, Response & Research (CORE) is seeking a talented and motivated software engineer to join their back-end web security team. Engineers on this team utilize a wide, and growing, range of technologies and languages, and are proud of the standards to which they hold themselves. You would help them develop and maintain their next-generation back-end system which protects McAfee customers from existing and emerging web threats. This is a remote position based in the United States. We will only consider candidates in the United States and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.
About the Role:

• You will invent, design, build, deliver, and operate solutions that drive standards and efficiency across the ecosystem.
• Plan, design, develop, test, and modify software systems or applications for enhancements and new products that are specifically focused on cloud service development.
• You will build the infrastructure that allows other software engineers to quickly deploy, run and scale their software.
• You'll be surrounded by a team of passionate engineers with whom you will dream up and implement the next big solution.
• Work with a variety of languages and technologies, including Python, Java, AWS, GCP, GO, Linux, and more.
• Take ownership of solutions, from requirements to deployment, coordinating with colleagues & stakeholders to complete the various phases in an iterative manner.
• Interact with multiple stakeholders both within and outside the company to evaluate the feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development and follow a collaborative process with architects and peers to find innovative solutions to group-specific business problems.
• You will have the opportunity to prove your ideas with proofs-of-concept and follow on with creating production-quality solutions.
• You will develop your skills in line with your interests, taking on increased responsibilities as you develop within the organization.
• Using current programming language and technologies; writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.

About you:

• You have at least 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, and your work has earned the respect of your colleagues.
• You have expertise in software design principles and one or more of the languages we use (Java, Python, C).
• You're self-motivated, a self-starter, a quick learner, and a team player. You're eager to take on individual responsibility, but you also know that a great team is more than the sum of its parts.
• You have a love of good code, and an instinct for clean design.
• You are the go-to person for cloud provider native services (EMR, EC2, etc.) and containerized deployments to cloud platforms using CI/CD.
• You'll be comfortable with both SQL and no-SQL databases and data processing technologies such as Spark.
• You are at ease implementing solutions for both on-prem and the cloud, and you understand the operational considerations for both.
• You can troubleshoot and solve complex system engineering problems.
• You're comfortable working in a Linux environment, both on and off the cloud.

For Colorado Residents the starting salary for this position is $104,500.00
