The Opportunity
We are looking for a curious and enthusiastic senior engineer who loves scripting automation. You’ll join a team of experienced engineers who are responsible for public cloud infrastructure, implementing DevSecOps governance, and developing solutions for the challenges that arise in a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-cloud environment using a mix of open source and SaaS offerings.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with team members to define architectural and operational aspects of infrastructure support
- Collaborate with engineering teams to scale cloud programs, and plan and create workflow processes by defining best practices
- Leverage your strong communication skills and cross-functional experience to tackle projects that include data from various intake sources, which you’ll massage, manipulate, and deliver via automation for remediation
What You Bring to Us:
Qualities
- Intellectually curious and ready to learn and apply new technologies
- Self-starter that makes things happen, and you take ownership of tasks and projects
- Able to recognize patterns and redefine the problem statement
- Flexible and switch context when needed, but don’t lose sight of the original objective
- Pragmatic and you choose simplicity over complexity
- Able to think incrementally when delivering big projects
- Team player that collaborates on projects and value others’ contributions
Technical Skills
- 6+ years’ managing services in an enterprise public cloud environment (AWS preferred)
- 4+ years’ managing Kubernetes and it’s underlying infrastructure
- 4+ years’ supporting a platform for monitoring, logging, and orchestration of docker applications running on Kubernetes
- 4+ years’ working with infrastructure as code and/or configuration management tools like Terraform, receiving, and providing code reviews
- Ability to drive technical innovation in operations via automation
- Systems operation and administration experience with Linux and/or containers
Bonus Points:
- Hands-on experience with scripting/programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
- Passionate about security in a public cloud environment
- Some experience with CDN/WAF platforms (i.e. Fastly, Akamai or AWS)
- Some experience with observability services (i.e. logging and monitoring)
Company Culture
As an organization, we value transparency, collaboration, learning, and collegiality. We are passionate about learning and doing our best. Sometimes we fail, but we learn from these failures. All the while, we believe that maintaining work-life balance and having fun is the key to our success.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $170,000 annually. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Ask Media Group’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include annual bonuses, and short and long-term incentives.
