Senior ColdFusion Software Developer

BIS Safety Software is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are expanding our team and are seeking an experienced, full-time senior ColdFusion Software Developer with strong proven abilities in the areas of programming.

About the role

Are you an experienced software developer focused on enhancing applications using ColdFusion? Do you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting code reviews, and optimizing system performance? Do you have a desire to oversee all stages of software development, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance? Do you have a commitment to continuous learning and driving innovation?

This posting is for a full-time, in-person position based out of our Sherwood Park, Alberta office.

The ideal candidate for this position will:

• Have strong experience in ColdFusion development.
• Demonstrate proficiency in front-end technologies such as ReactJS, AngularJS, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
• Have extensive experience with database management systems including MySQL and MSSQL.
• Familiarity with tools like GitHub, Docker, JIRA, Postman, Source Tree, Tortoise SVN, BitBucket, and Salesforce.
• Possess the ability to identify and communicate technical problems and generate solutions
• Be an experienced leader who has worked on a variety of complex projects, with a portfolio of published applications to demonstrate their work
• Have a professional and positive attitude with a solution-based approach to challenges

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Engaging in the design, execution, and enhancement of eLearning management software solutions.
• Creating and supporting digital forms, directories, reporting systems, eCommerce components, and other modules within the eLearning platform.
• Implementing detailed code reviews and optimizations to boost platform performance and user satisfaction.
• Performing extensive testing and debugging to ensure high-quality software releases, and provide ongoing technical support and maintenance after deployment.
• Overseeing website development projects, converting mockups into functional web interfaces using ColdFusion, MSSQL, jQuery, Bootstrap, AJAX, and JSON.
• Handling Content Management Systems to provide a user-friendly interface for clients.
• Developing, testing, and deploying applications in various environments.
• Collaborating closely with managers, team leads, designers, and fellow developers to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software.
• Developing web applications using a range of ColdFusion frameworks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on ColdFusion
• Strong understanding of web technologies and frameworks, including ColdFusion, Lucee, ReactJS, AngularJS, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
• Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science
• Hands-on experience with database technologies such as MySQL and MSSQL.
• Proficient in using development and collaboration tools like GitHub, Docker, JIRA, Postman, Source Tree, Tortoise SVN, BitBucket, and Salesforce.
• Possess good English written and oral communication skills
