We here at Texans are seeking a Senior Collector that is collaborative and meticulous. This Senior Collector will be responsible for collecting delinquencies while at the same time reinforcing Texans Credit Union's values and mission of member advocacy.

Major Duties and Essential Functions:

• Collect on higher stage delinquent accounts for Direct and Indirect consumer loans, credit cards, lines of credit and mortgage loans, while controlling losses to the Credit Union.

• Resolve problems on delinquent accounts by contacting members by phone, mail, email, and text.

• Responsible for resolution of delinquent credit cards.

• Responsible for mortgage collections while assisting with forbearances and modifications

• Performs skip tracing and account research.

• Documents all conversations and actions accurately in the collections system.

• Make suitable payment arrangements with members to bring accounts current in a timely manner.

• Reviews accounts and make recommendations for repossession and charge off.

Requirements

• Skilled in excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

• Skilled in effective time management skills and proficiency while handling multiple projects/tasks

• Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance

Education:

• Equivalent to a high school education.

Preferred Experience:

• Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a financial/banking institution with a working knowledge of the different products

• Two (2) years or more experience in consumer collection preferable; credit union experience a plus
