The Senior Commissions Manager, will be responsible for overseeing the commissions team to ensure payments are calculated accurately and timely within our compensation plans. This role will report into the Chief Accounting Officer.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commission department to ensure the accurate and timely payout of commissions to Talkdesk's international sales force and supporting teams.  
  • Maintain and improve commission workbooks in Excel that process complex commission calculations which are used for generating commission statements, accrual information, and payroll files.
  • Oversee the calculation and payment of royalties to partnered companies.
  • Audit annual contract value using SaaS contracts to ensure accurate bookings.
  • Understand how to interpret and apply company policies for commission purposes.
  • Book accrual, capitalization, and amortization journal entries.
  • Reconcile commission GL accounts.
  • Manage communications with the international sales force to answer questions regarding commissions, bookings credit, and company policies.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting
  • 7+ years in accounting or finance positions. Previous commissions experience a must
  • Ability to be meticulous and process-oriented
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally between many different departments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simply explain complex concepts
  • Experience using Salesforce, Netsuite, Zuora, and Workday
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Creative problem solver

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-environment work, extended periods of sitting or standing, computer-based work. Limited lifting, and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
