Senior Communicator

Job Summary
Chimera is seeking an experienced Senior Communicator. This position will provide strategic Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support to DTRA’s Building Partner Capacity (BP) Department to strengthen allies and partners capacity to Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD). This position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA and requires Secret clearance.
Responsibilities:

• Provide support to assist leadership with the development and implementation of short term and long-term goals, and the strategic planning of initiatives as well as assist with the coordination of these efforts, and operational advice and assistance in the development of vision, goals and objectives.
• Shape strategic messaging in support of OB leadership direction and guidance, ensuring that all messaging across multiple mediums is with “one voice”.
• Provide expert support reviewing and analyzing national/Federal, DoD, CJCS, CCMDs, state and other U.S. negotiated bilateral and multinational organizations’ documents such as studies, reports, briefings, and other papers/information; and provide advice and guidance to leadership based on that information to improve communications.
• Ensure all released information is approved through appropriate Foreign Disclosure and Public Affairs protocol.
• Develop, coordinate, and/or review Social Media blogs, Vlogs, videos, articles, and other information sources that communicate messages to multiple discrete audiences (both internally and externally).
• Functions as a supporting element to assist leadership with strategic initiatives and shall have the responsibility for daily operations.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience reviewing and analyzing Federal, DoD. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), Combatant Commands, state and federal negotiated bilateral and multinational organizations documents such as studies, reports, briefings, and provide guidance to leadership.
• Experience developing short and long-term goals and conducting strategic communication for Command level organizations.
• Experience developing General Officer level command organizational vision, goals, and objectives.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the DTRA and with other DoD/federal agencies is required.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Education (Master’s, Bachelor’s)

Clearance:

• Active Secret clearance.
